Melksham Town FC are delighted to announce Tom Crawford and Dudley Philpot as the new management team of our A Team.
As a club we feel this gives us a great pathway for our younger players from the Youth section into Adult Football.
Tom Crawford and Dudley Philpot commented, '"This new and exciting opportunity provides us with our first step into Senior Management at a Club we both know all too well having been in and around the Youth Section for the past 6-years. We are really looking forward to meeting the current squad, supporting their continued development whilst looking to provide Dave Macey (Reserves Manager) and Richard Fey (1st Team Manager) with some excellent candidates for progression. We would also like to acknowledge the achievements the previous Managers (Mark Lewis and Andy Thorburn) have had with the A-Team and hope to be able to carry this on with the talented squad of players we are taking on and any new faces that join us. As Youth Chairman and Vice Chairman, we continue to be impressed with the calibre of players we see coming through the Youth Section and believe our new role will enable us to retain players at the Football Club when their transition to Adult Football arises. And finally, thanks must go to both Andy King and Darren Perrin for considering us for this role and allowing the flexibility to retain our current Youth roles alongside this new adventure. We will announce the start of pre-season training once the current COVID-19 lockdown restrictions are lifted, but until then, we hope everyone remains safe and well.
Melksham Town FC are also delighted that this appointment will have NO impact on the Youth Section, as both of them continue in their roles and are also looking to increase numbers onto the Youth committee.
Finally, we would also like to thank Andy Thorburn and Mark Lewis for their contribution and efforts in running the team for the last couple of seasons and wish them all the best in the future. MTFC Committee
