As the season has come to a close, we have asked the Melksham Town manager, Rich Fey to express his views on the current season and also the highs and lows, especially the nine consecutive wins on the trot resulting in us winning two club of the month awards in succession.
'First and foremost, I want to thank everyone connected to the club for all their hard work over the course of this season. So many names to thank especially the Chairman and committee as at the start, I was literally without a squad.
Although I personally think this is the right decision to take, I do feel for Thatcham Town who are currently top and not getting promoted but we all have to respect the FA decision.
The players have been nothing short of magnificent this season and to sit 5th in the playoffs with just 9 games to go is nothing more than remarkable considering where we were back in May.
My backroom staff of Rudgie, Bally, Evo, Graham, Anthony, Kieran and Taff have been brilliant and it has been a privilege to work with each and every one of them.
In these unusual times, the most important thing is the health of your family and loved ones.
To all our amazing supporters, please stay safe, look after one another and when this current horrible virus ends, we will need you more than ever.
Hopefully see you all when preseason commences (whenever that may be) and again, please stay indoors and safe.
Regards
Rich Fey
